We all need to learn a few things in life and for some people the right thing to learn may be digital photography lessons. Digital photography lessons are something that most people have heard of, but very few people ever go through the changes that are required in order to enroll in such a class.

The fact is we take it for granted. We do so much of it that we never stop to contemplate just how good we are at it and how much we could improve.

Finding the right digital photography lessons

Do you currently live near any colleges? Colleges can be a great place to go to get after-school lessons on a whole host of different subjects including digital photography.

In community colleges it is more than likely that you will find a whole host of different courses you can attend from basic photography right up to professional photography.

Another place to find digital photography lessons is going to be your local camera store or camera supply store.

Even if you cannot find a store in your area that conducts this kind of courses, it’s more than likely that some of them would have known where you can go.

What are the costs involved?

The costs vary depending greatly on the level you will be taught at. If you’re lucky and only looking for basic courses it may even be possible to find some free courses in your area, however this is not the norm.

If you are going to learn basic point and shoot things at your digital photography classes, then chances are they are going to be relatively inexpensive.

Learning about digital backgrounds, models, positioning, lighting, and advanced camera use and other more advanced tricks and techniques of the trade will probably cost a tad bit more than your run of the mill basic class.

Remember don’t take photography for granted. If you enjoy photography there is absolutely no reason why you should not improve your skills with photography lessons.

Boasting a 7.1 megapixel range, very user-friendly controls, and excellent quality output, this camera is hard to beat.

With its innovative and useful new features and you have a rival to challenge most others for the best digital cameras available. Let’s take a closer look at the Olympus C7000

The Olympus C7000 is the smallest camera in its division weighing in at only 7.7 ounces. You will find yourself trying to figure out how they packed as many features as they did into such an impressive little camera.

Upon closer examination you discover that the Olympus C7000 possesses a stylish metal body, finished in a sleek titanium color. Well laid out controls are found on the back of the camera, along with a 2-inch LCD screen that proves easy to see even in bright sunlight due to semi-transmissive TFT technology.

The CCD sensor buried deep inside the C7000 is capable of capturing 7.1 megapixels of photographic data, which coupled with a 5X optical zoom lens capable of 35-mm focal lengths ranging from 38mm to 190mm, mean that this camera should be capable of taking some very high quality photographs - and fortunately, it succeeds!

Thanks to a TruePic TURBO image processor, users can enjoy taking clean and sharp photos with superb color representation and little distortion or noise. As well as a real-time histogram, users can be informed of over and underexposed areas in photos while in any shooting mode via color-coded highlighting. The C7000 can also confidently record VGA video at 30 frames per second, and has both a microphone and speaker built in for recording and playback.

Photos are stored using xD-Picture Cards, and Olympus have included a 32MB card in the box so you can get started taking photos right away. A USB 2.0 connection is used to transfer photos to your computer, and the cable for this is also included.

Also included in the box is a lithium ion rechargeable battery that powers the Olympus C7000 along with a compatible charger. You should be able to take approximately 200 with this camera between battery charges depending on the camera settings.

With all of the excellent features the Olympus C7000 has to offer, the shortcomings are very few. They are so few in fact, the only one to truly be noted is with the Autofocus. It occasionally has problems when used in low-lit conditions. It still works well in bright light, even if not as fast as similar cameras offered for the same price.

The last feature to make note of is the time lapse setting that can be set to take photos automatically at 1 to 60 minute intervals. Features such as this along with all of the others make the Olympus C7000 a highly recommended pick.

One feature not yet mentioned in this review is the time-lapse setting that can set the camera to take photos automatically at 1 to 60-minute intervals, and it is features like this combined with everything else the Olympus C7000 has to offer that make it a highly recommended choice.

Are you leaving your finest photographs collecting digital dust on your hard drive? Do you have vivid, ‘precious moment’ images that you’d like to look at more often? If so, how about turning them into a one-of-a-kind, custom digital photo calendar?

To be realistic, not every photograph is worth a thousand words, but those that are, are priceless. These are the photos that you find yourself wanting to pull out every now and then to remember a special moment or to share with others. You can create a special way to have them available to show off to friends and family.

For an abundance of good reasons, it’s great to share our family or ‘good times’ images with others. In fact, you’re naturally inclined to want ‘everyone’ to see them… But how? And ‘what’s the best way to do this?’

One very fun and unique way is by creating a simple digital photo calendar. Don’t take the words “digital photo calendar” too literally though. In this case we’re talking about turning the idea of a regular wall calendar into one-of-a-kind work of art using your own photos.

In other words… a ‘photo calendar’ which you can then print up, give to your friends or family, hang on your wall, promote across the Internet, sell on your website or photo blog, (or even on eBay), etc…

So let’s go ahead and actually build ourselves one of these cool little photo calendars.

Here’s what you do.

To begin, simply pick out some of your favorite photos to be included in our project. Next involves a little bit of research, but I’ve done a bit of that to help you save some time and make things easier for you. Here are some places where you can easily transform your digital photos into a photo calendar

Check out a few of the websites that will do this for you: www.bighugelabs.com, www.desktopwallpaperphotos.com, www.snapfish.com and www.cafepress.com. The first two listed can give you a free digital version of your calendar that you can download to your hard drive and then print out or save to a CD/take to a print shop. The others provide a ‘real’ wall or desk calendar that you can purchase and then ’send’ to yourself, or even a friend.

Actually… this is the real ’secret’ behind getting your photos into a calendar… you just need to know where (as in, what web sites) to use. The rest of the process is reasonably straightforward. (Although you do need to have a fair idea of how to prepare your images before printing! Tip: Get someone to help you do this if it’s going to be too challenging!)

Only a few more easy steps…

1) Upload your photo/s to one of the photo calendar web sites above.

2) Select a particular calendar size and other details

3) Choose on the months and/or years you want your calendar to have

d) then hit the ‘create’ button or order your own calendar…

Really does sound easy doesn’t it? Once you’ve finished these steps you will have an enjoyable photo calendar that can be downloaded as a .PDF onto your hard drive or even as a .jpeg image file. If you are having your printed performed by a printing service, you can expect your completed project in about a week.

In the end, it’s not too bad for a few minutes worth of work!

Now you can take your digital photo calendar masterpiece out to impress friends and family. Be creative with it and print it out on a card, e-mail it to everyone, or just hang it on your wall for your own enjoyment. Photo calendars make a great gift and every time someone looks at it they will be reminded of you and be able to share in your special memories.

The cause behind this is artistically designs help to create a great communication with the fans listening to music and the authentic partakers. It will assist the listeners to appreciate not only the fundamentals of melody but also the associates of the group and their significance with melodious music.

Experts say that you can tell a lot about a band from looking at their art work, including where they are from, what type of music it is,what they are interested in, how much time and money they put forward into their album, and so on. This is why it is really important that a band take their time and put serious thought and consideration into any album that they produce, not only in terms of the recorded CD inside, but just as equally to the outfit that surrounds it.

Best Album Covers

There are various lists and surveys that have been done regarding the best album covers of all time, and a few in particular that always top the lists are: Blues for Allah - Grateful Dead, Yessongs - Yes, Relayer - Yes, Over-Night Sensation - Zappa, and Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin. It is important to realize here that not only is the actual album cover itself, what you see, important, but so is the inside of the album cover, where the lyrics of the recorded songs are usually displayed. Elton John’s 1973 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road CD, for instance, was very popular for its pictures that accompanied each song on the lyrics sheet.

There are some bands that acts as revolts to the consistency and wants to be away from crowds. Take Hard-Fi band as example, the album was launched to the market without any cover picture or artwork. The event created lot of negative impact at the beginning, but marked as a newly created trend.

The eventual purpose at the rear of this conception was to split the policy of the quickly budding art bazaar where the significance lies in the design work on the album CD covers than the words or music. Remove Backgrounds

You can remove the background or backdrop behind an object in a picture with a process called background removal. This process can remove the background in its entirety, or you can choose sections or parts that you desire from a backdrop to be removed.

Background removal once was an arduous process. Now with the arrival of digital photography and all of its technologies it is actually simple.

It was once done in a darkroom under all of the proper temperature and ambient conditions. The film was watched closely while submerged in a working solution. By overexposing the film to the solution, the background was blurred and has a decrease in resolution.

Today, background removal is possible using any digital photo editing software like Image Manipulation Program, GNU, or GIMP. GIMP is a special kind of graphics editing program able to support some types of object-based (or vector) graphics.

It is not necessary that the digital photo editing software used for background removal be able to support all types of object-oriented graphics. The advantage in using GIMP of course, is that it enables easy vector to raster conversion.

Other commonly used raster graphics editors and digital photo editors will also work just as well. Most digital photo editors have plug-ins which can alter the background in different ways. Plug-ins are computer programs with highly particular functions. Most sophisticated photo editing programs use special purpose plug-ins and will perform background editing and removal based on special criteria.

Objects without backgrounds can be used in several different ways. They can be placed in a new backdrop and in different situational contexts. For eg.: a couch in furniture showroom could have the furniture showroom replaced with an office. The object can be moved around any which way and it’s alignment w.r.t the new background can also be changed.

The interesting thing about an object without a background is that it retains all its properties like shape and size, but makes itself more flexible to individual usage.

Photography: An Incredible Medium

Photography is a potent medium. Speaking without words, it has the ability to unleash emotions in a visceral way. Whether it is fine art, photojournalism, or commercial photography, works by exceptional photographers can touch us deeply.

Think of the impact photography has had on journalism. Before the first reproduction of a photograph by the New York Daily Graphic in 1880, the only pictures of current events were engravings. Seeing printed photographs of news events brought an immediacy never before possible. Imagine opening your newspaper for the first time and seeing photographs of train wrecks, battles, theater stars, or the Worlds’ Fair-suddenly, everything once far away seems very real.

Photography is capable of instilling great emotions us. Majestic images such as Ansel Adams’s black and white photographs of Yellowstone and Yosemite awe us. Barren photos like Margaret Bourke White’s study of rural poverty during the Great Depression overwhelm us. Horrific scenes of our nation’s wars sadden. Brutal scenes of injustice anger us. It is not mere clich to say that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Photographs also touch us personally. From the very beginning, people loved having even the tiniest daguerreotype of family members to look at. Civil War soldiers carried tintypes of their wives and sweethearts close to their hearts, and they left behind proud pictures of themselves in uniform. Today, we still hold photographs of our loved ones with reverence and like traveling back in time via stacks of family albums.

Most of us “take pictures”. Few, however, have actually taken a course in photography. Studying photography can lead to any number of career opportunities, or it can help you better capture images of the world around you. If you love looking at your surrounding through the eye of a lens, if you love the weight of a good camera in your hands, why not see where that feeling can take you?
