2008Are you leaving your finest photographs collecting digital dust on your hard drive? Do you have vivid, ‘precious moment’ images that you’d like to look at more often? If so, how about turning them into a one-of-a-kind, custom digital photo calendar?
To be realistic, not every photograph is worth a thousand words, but those that are, are priceless. These are the photos that you find yourself wanting to pull out every now and then to remember a special moment or to share with others. You can create a special way to have them available to show off to friends and family.
For an abundance of good reasons, it’s great to share our family or ‘good times’ images with others. In fact, you’re naturally inclined to want ‘everyone’ to see them… But how? And ‘what’s the best way to do this?’
One very fun and unique way is by creating a simple digital photo calendar. Don’t take the words “digital photo calendar” too literally though. In this case we’re talking about turning the idea of a regular wall calendar into one-of-a-kind work of art using your own photos.
In other words… a ‘photo calendar’ which you can then print up, give to your friends or family, hang on your wall, promote across the Internet, sell on your website or photo blog, (or even on eBay), etc…
So let’s go ahead and actually build ourselves one of these cool little photo calendars.
Here’s what you do.
To begin, simply pick out some of your favorite photos to be included in our project. Next involves a little bit of research, but I’ve done a bit of that to help you save some time and make things easier for you. Here are some places where you can easily transform your digital photos into a photo calendar
Check out a few of the websites that will do this for you: www.bighugelabs.com, www.desktopwallpaperphotos.com, www.snapfish.com and www.cafepress.com. The first two listed can give you a free digital version of your calendar that you can download to your hard drive and then print out or save to a CD/take to a print shop. The others provide a ‘real’ wall or desk calendar that you can purchase and then ’send’ to yourself, or even a friend.
Actually… this is the real ’secret’ behind getting your photos into a calendar… you just need to know where (as in, what web sites) to use. The rest of the process is reasonably straightforward. (Although you do need to have a fair idea of how to prepare your images before printing! Tip: Get someone to help you do this if it’s going to be too challenging!)
Only a few more easy steps…
1) Upload your photo/s to one of the photo calendar web sites above.
2) Select a particular calendar size and other details
3) Choose on the months and/or years you want your calendar to have
d) then hit the ‘create’ button or order your own calendar…
Really does sound easy doesn’t it? Once you’ve finished these steps you will have an enjoyable photo calendar that can be downloaded as a .PDF onto your hard drive or even as a .jpeg image file. If you are having your printed performed by a printing service, you can expect your completed project in about a week.
In the end, it’s not too bad for a few minutes worth of work!
Now you can take your digital photo calendar masterpiece out to impress friends and family. Be creative with it and print it out on a card, e-mail it to everyone, or just hang it on your wall for your own enjoyment. Photo calendars make a great gift and every time someone looks at it they will be reminded of you and be able to share in your special memories.
