Do you suffer from acne? If so, you are just one of the millions of people all over the world that suffer from this prevalent skin condition. While the common misconception is that acne is strictly a teenager problem, the truth is that a larger percentage of adults have severe acne problems.

Acne varies greatly in severity. While some people suffer from very mild acne, with just several pimples to deal with on a monthly basis, others have such a serious problem that they develop a complex and don’t even want to be in public because of their appearance.

Those who suffer from acne are not left without help. There are many on-the-spot remedies available. There are also many treatment options that focus on the problem as a whole, offering advice and products that can help you to once again achieve the blemish free skin you so desire.

The Laser Option

There are actually quite a few different treatment options for acne, but one of the most effective and popular is the laser acne treatment. Dermatologists are using lasers for just about everything today, and the same now applies to acne, as the laser acne treatment is quickly becoming quite popular.

In the laser acne treatment, laser machines have been finely adjusted and upgraded, and the advancement of laser treatment into dealing with acne and other skin conditions has been truly revolutionary. Patients suffering from active acne lesions and scarring who have undergone the laser surgery have come out of it with some incredible results, showing significant improvement of scars and a reduction in sebum which is the oily substance that is found in pores and which causes pimples and blackheads.

Laser treatment shouldn’t be rashly jumped in to, however. It is important to decide if your acne is severe enough to consider such a drastic measure. Generally the use of lasers is reserved only for the most severe cases. The best advice is for you to exhaust all of the other acne treatment options first, thus leaving the use of lasers for last in the event that all of your other attempts fail.

If you are considering the use of lasers in your acne treatment plan, it is essential that you consult your doctor and inform him of your intentions. You will also need the approval of a dermatologist in order to be able to go forward with the procedure. Certain individuals will not be permitted to receive such treatment. Such individuals include, among others, pregnant or nursing women.

I know you acne is frustrating but the bottom line is, YOU WILL NEVER GET RID OF IT! No matter what you do, what products you buy, how many dermatologists you see, acne is a persistent problem. Yes, it is treatable, but as far as getting rid of it completely and never having to take medications for it, you may be out of luck.

So what can you do with your acne? To start, stop stressing about it! I know you hate it, it’s embarrassing and it’s costing you a fortune, stressing will not help the problem. Even more important, stressing could cause your acne to get worse! You don’t want that, right?

Diet is a very important factor in improving your acne. Fruits, vegetables, fish and chicken are great for your skin and acne. A balanced diet not only helps you stay toned and fresh looking, it also sharpens your mental abilities and is great for your skin.

Shop around for products but don’t fall for every product that’s released. Different products have varied results on people and skin types. Make sure you purchase non oil based products so your pores can breath and remove dirt etc.

When purchasing a acne care or even beauty product, avoid oil based products like the plague. You can quickly cause noticeable damage to your skin after continued use. Oil based products clog the skins pores which prevent it from breathing and cleansing itself.

Most product vendors like to boast if their product is non oil based so you should have no problems finding this on the labels.

It’s scary to see how many people try product after product and never dream of just getting advice from a dermatologist. I strongly advise that you get some professional advice before going on a treatment.

Get professional advice before you commit to a long term expensive treatment such as laser therapy. Be sure also to take the important health related steps I’ve discussed. Eat healthily and stop stressing.
