Natural weight loss means lowering your daily calorie intake while increasing the amount of calories you burn through exercise; few ever listen to this suggestion. This advice should be easy to comprehend - at least you would think it was; however, currently 35 percent of Americans are unable to prevent being overweight! Of course, once you are overweight, you usually want to trim down for a whole lot of reasons, some related to health, others having to do with looks.
The strange thing is though that it is so much easier to stay trim than it is to lose weight because as soon as you start putting on weight, many things become more difficult. Nevertheless weight maintenance is something that has to be worked on and planned otherwise we will put on extra pounds.
For some reason even when dieters who have become used to, and enjoy, a low calorie diet, they eventually drift back to old habits and start piling the pounds back on again. Extra weight often results in health issues and can negatively impact on one’s emotional state and self-esteem but all this can be cured with a healthy, natural weight loss program.
There is a large number of health conditions associated with weight gain and the greater the increase in body weight the more that problems occur. The annoying part is that natural weight maintenance is not difficult to understand but overweight people choose to ignore this.
If you are planning to use a natural weight loss approach then its success will depend on the meals you eat which should be low in fat, high in fiber, some protein and carbohydrates. A typical meal like this would be a jacket potato with vegetables and some lean meat, which would be healthy and give the balance you require.
Dietitians also say that the body has a capacity to retain dietary fat more than calories for regular foods so weight gain is more likely. Food manufacturers have been quick to react and have provided a huge range of low or no fat foods but despite this the American people are getting larger, the simple reason for this may surprise you!
The weight a person puts on isn’t always as a result of high fat foods, although they obviously do not help, but a result of too many calories turning into body fat. The term fat-free can be a trap if you start to believe that you can eat any amount of fat-free food when it is far better to respond to hunger with healthy snacks.
Schools of thought differ on this subject but many nutritionists agree that eating smaller meals with a snack every 3 to four hours or between meals could be beneficial providing main meals are not missed. The secret to natural weight loss is easy if you just obey it; do not eat more than your body requires through normal activities and exercise.
